About Us

Thom Somes, "The Pet Safety Guy™," is the number one advocate promoting pet safety and care throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Pet Tech's mission of "Improving the quality of pets' lives, one pet owner at a time" began with one simple question in 1994.

One day, after teaching an first aid class, a student approached and asked him... "Hey, this class was great. But what would I need to do if my pet was in trouble?"

In the blink of an eye, Thom saw a way for him to fuse his two passions - emergency medicine and pets! Pet Tech, the first International Training Center, was created to improve the quality of pets' lives, one pet owner at a time through training and education.

Now, 13 years later, Thom has taught his Pet CPR, First Aid & Care Classes and Instructor Trainings to over 15,000 adults in North America. His trainings, workshops, and books have helped to save the lives of thousands of pets, and have brought joy to countless families of "Petizens" everywhere.

Pet Tech and "The Pet Safety Guy™" have built an enduring and solid presence in the Pet Care Professional Community. He passionately delivers keynote speeches. And he has developed relationships with pet advocates the world over to spread his message of health and wellness for our furry, four-legged family members.

With the success of Pet Tech, Thom decided to start a new company - DoggieDoggieAreYouOK.com Productions, Inc., an "edutainment," and cause-related marketing and production company that creates and promotes goods and services to build Win-Win-Win relationships with pets, pet lovers, and charities around the world, with a portion of the sales donated to charities selected by Thom and his staff!

In September 2007, Thom delivered a keynote speech entitled "Pet Care Professionalism in this New Millennium." In his address, he announced his new company's first goal: to raise 1 million dollars for four pet charities in one year.

The campaign, a grassroots effort led through the power of the Internet and joint venture marketing, is proudly titled "The Million Petizen Rally." It began on November 15th, 2007.
